Improving water supply and sanitation (WSS) is key to the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals. It is at the core of the World Bank’s mission to reduce poverty. Water Pollution

Attention for water pollution exploded in the 1980s. The oil spill of the Exxon Valdez showed many around the world just how horrible the effects of water pollution could be.

However, even the Exxon Valdez spill barely touched the surface of the problem of water pollution. Water Purification systems and products

The process of water purification is the transformation of water from a non-drinkable state to a drinkable state. This is done when the water is poisonous or determined to be potentially hazardous to the health by a consumer. This unfortunately is happening more and more as ever larger amounts of chemicals find their way into our water sources. The damage that these chemicals and contaminants can do to us is both wide ranging and frightening.

There are however an ever increasing number of water purification systems available which can vary in functionality and price in order to suite the needs of anyone. There are water ionizers which perform an ionization procedure on the water that flows through them. Water Quality

Water quality is a term used to describe the chemical, physical, and biological characteristics of water, usually in respect to its suitability for a particular purpose. Although scientific measurements are used to define a water's quality, it's not a simple thing to say that "this water is good," or "this water is bad." After all, water that is perfectly good to wash a car with may not be good enough to serve as drinking water at a dinner party for the President! When the average person asks about water quality, they probably want to know if the water is good enough to use at home, to play in, to serve in a restaurant, etc., or if the quality of our natural waters are suitable for aquatic plants and animals.

As the diagram above shows, assessment of the occurrence of chemicals that can harm water quality, such as nutrients and pesticides in water resources, requires recognition of complicated interconnections among surface water and ground water, atmospheric contributions, natural landscape features, human activities, Everything But Water, Lady In Water, Muddy Waters, Noahs Ark Water Park, Open Water, and aquatic health. The vulnerability of surface water and ground water to degradation depends on a combination of natural landscape features, such as geology, topography, and soils; climate and atmospheric contributions; and human activities related to different land uses and land-management practices.

Water retention

Many average healthy adults experience some water retention and the accompanying weight gain that occurs. The day to day body weight fluctuations are commonly caused by the loss and gain in body fluid.

Its possible to retain up to five pounds of water weight retention and can easily be hidden within the natural fluid that surrounds cells ( extra-cellular fluid ). Heavier people may experience more water retention especially if their intake of processed, Portuguese Water Dog, Raging Waters, Roger Waters, Schlitterbahn Water Park, Texas Water Parks, convenient food is high. For some it can be as much as eight to ten pounds of fluid retention if weight gain is quick say over the Christmas season.

There are a few causes of water retention but for many an increase in sodium through the diet ( mainly salt intake ) is a common cause and research suggests it may contribute to high blood pressure and other health complications. Sodium is present in virtually all food products so when a person consumes more food its inevitable they also consume more sodium. Weight gains are very often a combination of fat stores and water retention.

Water Rocket

Welcome to my evil lair, I mean my evil water rocket page. It all began last spring (1999) when my friend Frank Kaplan said, "Hey, you oughta search for water rockets on the web". Being a web savvy kind of guy I did, and discovered the wacky world of water rockets. With 2 part epoxy and anything involving high pressure being some of my favorite things I was deeply intrigued. Scouring every site I could lay my HotBot on I kept gravitating back to Gary Ensmenger's awesome www.h2orocket.com site. I was particularly taken by his Anti Gravity Vortex Rockets. I liked the crash-worthy, rubber band attached, cold formed, lexan fins. And I liked the inherent stability of a "stemmed" rocket. The detachable stem and fin design got me thinking about a modular design where fins, stems, varying number of bottles, Walk On Water, Water Aerobic, Water Drop, Water Fight, Water Filter System, and even a parachute device could be easily configured with no tools. To this end I embraced double ended bottles, and created the coupler shown below.

Water rockets may take many forms. Simple one stage rockets can be knocked together in minutes, more complicated multi-stage, parachute deploying masterpieces may take substantially longer. Even a film canister with an antacid tablet, fruit saline powder or something to produce pressure will pop open and fly upwards. Water rockets provide an authentic purpose for the learning of many physical and mathematical concepts, providing students, Water Moccasin, Water Park Of America, Water Power, Water Powered Car, Water Snake, teachers and others with an interesting means of investigating the effects of the many variables able to be altered.
